Embrace2 now shipping to the US without requiring a prescription
During this crisis, we’d like to make our life-changing technology more accessible to those who need it most.
There is no doubting it: we are living through unprecedented times. Over a third of the world’s population has been asked to stay at home, in order to limit the spread of Covid-19, and this does not exclude the US, where 3 out of 4 Americans are in some form of lockdown. This might make it difficult for many of you to have access to important services you need, one of those being visiting your doctor.
Our priority, always, but especially during these difficult times, remains to help keep you safe. Some of you may be home alone, whereas the parents amongst you are probably spending twenty-four hours a day with your children. If you are living alone, maybe Embrace can get you help in case of a seizure that would otherwise go unnoticed. Or, as a parent, you may want to feel secure at night with your child sleeping next door, or you may want someone to watch over your little ones if you have an important work call to make and have to leave the room.
Our aim is to make living with epilepsy more manageable, but we know it’s not always easy to get a prescription for your Embrace, let alone now when you are being asked to stay safe by staying at home, and patiently wait for this to pass.
That is why, from today, we will be shipping Embrace orders to our customers in the US without immediately requiring a prescription from your healthcare provider.
In other words, you can receive your Embrace as soon as you order it from our online store, and then have 4 months to send your prescription to us. Don’t forget that you will also still have 30 days of free trial to see if Embrace and Alert are right for you. Embrace is shipped straight from us to you with our trusted delivery partner, so you need not worry about it reaching you safely.
Thankfully for everyone, the HHS is now allowing phone consultations and telehealth to be offered via various popular popular platforms, including Facetime, Facebook Messenger and more. This means you will still be able to have access to your healthcare provider remotely, and you can ask them to write a prescription for you and send it via an email. All you need to do is submit your prescription to us using the usual process within 120 days of ordering your Embrace.
Don’t forget to check our social channels as we share feel good content, to help you make the most of your time at home. And if you are already waiting for your Embrace2 to arrive, or you are wearing one right now, make sure to read our latest blog post on how your Embrace can help while staying at home.
*Please bear in mind that Embrace2 remains an FDA-cleared medical device, which means that not receiving a valid prescription within the 4-month period will mean your account will be suspended.
