Yumna’s Embrace story — Fulfilling her dream of helping people

At Empatica, we’ve been thinking a lot about the importance of community empowerment. How can we enable each other to increase control over the decisions that shape our lives? That’s just one of the reasons why we loved hearing from Yumna Aysen.

Yumna is a young motivational speaker, vlogger, and influencer, who inspires others to chase their passions and live happy fulfilled lives.

She was diagnosed with epilepsy when she was 10 years old. It started with myoclonic seizures and later led to tonic clonic seizures. As she grew older, she became very anxious about her seizures, and had a lot of uncertainty about the future and her childhood career ambition of helping and empowering people.

Her anxiety caused her to have even more seizures. Here she tells us about the first time Embrace alerted her caregivers while she was having a seizure in the bathroom, and they were able to locate and assist her quickly.

Hi, I’m Yumna Aysen and I was diagnosed with epilepsy when I was 10 years old

I am 26 years old now. When I was 10 years old, I used to have a lot of myoclonic seizures where things would just drop from my hands and my arms would jerk.

I had no idea what was going on and I used to cry a lot. I then started having tonic clonic seizures that scared me so much when I was little.

As I grew older, through my teenage years, I hardly had any seizures.

However two years after I finished university, I started getting a lot of tonic clonic seizures. I would say it is definitely because of my anxiety that I had about the future and not knowing where my life was going especially in terms of my career.

As a child for a long time even through my teenage years, I always wanted a career that would make a passive income so whether I was sleeping or wherever I was in the world, I would have a passive stream of income.

I wanted a career that would help a lot of people

Something that would change people’s lives and empower them to do great things in their life.

Once I started getting seizures again, this made me even more anxious and very stressed which made me have even more seizures. I had lost a lot of hope.

Having my seizures come up again had reduced the confidence in myself and being unsure as to how I was going to make my dreams become a reality in terms of my career, as I am a very ambitious person.

My life truly changed when I came across Empatica’s Embrace

It’s funny because I just came across the Embrace by chance through browsing the internet.

I never thought I would come across amazing technology such as the Embrace. I didn’t even think that this technology existed!

The Embrace has brought my confidence back and has drastically reduced my anxiety.

It has made my parents feel safer and less worried about me.

I could have bumped my head in the bathroom, but thank goodness I didn’t

Recently the Embrace detected a seizure I had in my toilet.

It sent a text message and a call to my loved ones and they immediately attended to me. I could have bumped my head in the bathroom, but thank goodness I didn’t. I did injure my ribs pretty badly that day.

I am so grateful that the Embrace alerted my loved ones.

This device can honestly save a lot of lives.

I have a passion for helping other people

I have now become a video blogger, influencer, and motivational speaker. I make videos on YouTube, Instagram, and Facebook.

I do a lot of videos about inspiration and life advice from how to believe in yourself more, becoming more resilient, the importance of having a very strong mindset, dreaming big, and women empowerment amongst a lot of other topics.

I use social media to make inspirational posts and videos to help people through everyday life.

I have a passion for helping other people and inspiring people from all different walks of life, and I am now fulfilling my child career ambitions of helping other people.

In recent months, friends, and random strangers have sent me messages and come up to me and told me that I have influenced their life so much in a very positive way and that I have had a huge impact in their life.

This truly means so very much to me, it makes me so happy, and I am so very grateful that my work is impacting people out there.

My Dreams and Aspirations

I would really like to build my personal brand really big so I can share my story through keynote speeches (TED talks), be interviewed, collaborate with other inspirational influencers, publish an inspirational book about my story, and most importantly help people through coaching.

Living with epilepsy and having my Embrace has helped me inspire other people through my social media pages and has given a lot of people hope.

It has helped people become more transparent and not being ashamed of living with epilepsy.

I highly recommend people living with epilepsy to purchase an Embrace, it will literally change your life and give you your confidence back, especially the confidence to make your dreams and aspirations a reality.

Thank you so very much Empatica :)
