If the prescription is not valid, Empatica will contact the patient directly to explain why. If the patient is unable to provide a valid prescription to Empatica, please contact our team to cancel the order and receive a full refund. No prescription is needed for purchases made outside the US. Visit the How to upload a prescription for WellPD (US-only) article to learn more.

Does WellPD need a smartphone?
Yes, you will need to have a dedicated smartphone to stay connected to WellPD. This is because the WellPD app, installed on the user’s phone, receives information from the device via Bluetooth. WellPD requires a compatible smartphone to operate. The phone runs the companion app and is responsible for notifications, medication reminders, and data upload. The app needs to be installed on a phone used by the person wearing the wearable device. For a list of compatible smartphones, you can visit our compatibility page.
Does the phone have to be next to the wearable to work?
WellPD communicates with the smartphone via Bluetooth, so the phone needs to stay within range to transmit data. WellPD cannot work without a companion phone.
