FAQ
How does EpiMonitor work?
EpiMonitor uses EmbracePlus, the world’s most advanced smartwatch, to continuously monitor healthcare signals. The EpiMonitor App analyzes this data to spot patterns that might indicate seizures.
If a seizure pattern of more than 20 seconds is detected, the device sends real-time alerts to the EpiMonitor User and the user's active caregivers via phone calls and SMS. EpiMonitor also offers a detailed Seizure diary, Sleep and Activity tracking and a report that can be shared with healthcare provider to help users manage their condition.
Features may vary depending on the plan you choose.
How do I buy my subscription?
EpiMonitor works with an EmbracePlus and a dedicated active subscription plan. Buy the starter pack, to get both your EmbracePlus and subscription.
In case you decide to participate in our Forecasting Study to get US$50.00 of in the EmbracePlus, you will be requested to first register, enroll in the study, and then you will be able to buy your subscription within your account with the discounted EmbracePlus.
Note that in any case, to make EpiMonitor work an active subscription is needed in the EpiMonitor Account. A prescription is also always required for USA customers.
Can I cancel my order or subscription?
Yes, you can cancel your Epimonitor order. You have two options to cancel:
- Before Prescription Upload: If you decide to cancel your order before uploading the prescription, you're eligible for a full refund of the device price and subscription fee.
- Within 30 Days of Device Pairing: If you've already paired the device but wish to cancel you can do it within 30 days of pairing or 45 days after delivery, and you will still receive the full refund of the device price and subscription fee bought
Important: If you cancel within 30 days of pairing, you must send the device back to Empatica. Once we receive and inspect the returned device, your refund will be issued.

Canceling Your Subscription Only: You can cancel your subscription in your EpiMonitor account. This action will disable the auto-renewal of your subscription plan at any time. If you cancel in the middle of a billing period, you'll still be able to use the subscription for the remaining month/year, and the subscription will not renew afterward.
Can I buy and use EmbracePlus for other monitoring purposes without getting an EpiMonitor subscription?
EmbracePlus is included as part of the EpiMonitor package. It can only be used with the EpiMonitor system as a seizure monitoring device.
