For those living with Parkinson’s, it can be difficult to sum up weeks of changing symptoms. Did movement become harder before the next medication dose? Was sleep more disrupted than usual? Was a difficult afternoon part of a pattern?
Earlier this week, we launched WellPD, a medical device featuring a wearable and companion app designed to help people with Parkinson’s gain a deeper understanding of their health between appointments.
Built on our FDA-cleared and CE-marked Parkinson’s monitoring platform, WellPD continuously monitors motor symptoms, sleep, and activity at home. Medication logging and easy-to-read summaries help people see changes over time and bring that understanding into conversations with their care teams.
Orders are now open, with shipping beginning November 23.
A clearer picture of everyday life
WellPD helps people build a clearer picture of their daily health to share with their care teams.
The wrist-worn device records movement and other body signals, which clinically validated algorithms translate into measurements of motor symptoms, sleep, and activity. The companion app brings these measurements together with medication logs in easy-to-read daily summaries.
Over time, this information can help people recognize patterns, such as disrupted sleep or changes in movement around medication doses, without relying on memory alone or manually recording every detail in a diary.

What WellPD tracks over time
WellPD summarizes continuous data in four areas, with daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly views in the app:
- Motor symptoms: Including dyskinesia, bradykinesia, and tremor, with WellMove, your motor measure unique to WellPD, showing how much time you spend with mild or no symptoms.
- Activity: How many steps you take and how active you’ve been throughout the day.
- Sleep: How well you sleep, how much you move at night, and how many hours you get overall.
- Medications: Which doses you’ve taken compared to your schedule, plus reminders so you don’t miss one.
All of this comes together in a simple weekly summary. With one tap, a week of your data becomes a short, easy-to-read overview, showing what’s changed, what’s stayed the same, and what it might mean. These summaries are meant to inform, not to diagnose or replace advice from your doctor.
Supporting conversations about care
For someone living with Parkinson’s, a change that feels significant can be difficult to explain weeks later. Having a record of that period can give them something concrete to refer to when discussing a concern.
For a family member or caregiver, WellPD can offer another way to understand the person’s experience and support them day to day.
And for clinicians, this can provide a fuller picture of life between appointments, adding context to conversations about symptoms, medication, and overall care.
Built on experience in Parkinson’s care
WellPD brings together Empatica’s wearable technology and the Parkinson’s expertise of PKG Health, which we acquired in 2025.
Empatica’s PKG clinically validated algorithms are backed by more than 70 peer-reviewed publications and used across more than 150 hospitals and clinical sites worldwide, with over 70,000 patients treated using this platform. That foundation, combined with our experience bringing medical devices directly to patients, has shaped how we developed WellPD for home use.
It also builds on the belief that has guided Empatica since our beginnings at the MIT Media Lab: healthcare technology should feel friendly, caring, and more human. For us, that means making clinically grounded information easier to access, understand, and use in everyday life.
Order WellPD today
Living with Parkinson’s means navigating change, often with questions that don’t have easy answers. Our hope is that WellPD helps people make more sense of those changes and feel more supported in sharing their experience.
Whether someone wants to better understand a difficult part of the day, follow changes over time, or prepare for their next appointment, WellPD offers a way to bring that information together.
