SLEEP
Empatica joins Sleep Revolution, aiming to diagnose and treat OSA
Obstructive sleep apnea is the most common sleep-related breathing disorder, causing people to stop and start breathing while they sleep. This occurs when the throat muscles relax, blocking the person’s airway. A common sign of obstructive sleep apnea is snoring.
Funded by the European Union’s Horizon 2020. Empatica has joined a consortium with lead researchers in Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). The goal of the consortium is to introduce a revolutionary approach based on machine learning to accurately diagnose OSA and provide optimal treatment for patients. With the help of EmbracePlus research suite, researchers and patients from across Europe are brought together under a single platform and work together to reach our common goal.
The European Union’s Horizon 2020 was the EU's research and innovation funding programme, running from 2014-2020. This programme has been succeeded by Horizon Europe, which will run from 2021-2027.
